Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Go for it... report back

Does it have the MAF sensor though? Don't you have to put that in-line on the intake somewhere?

all that black plastic is what i want to replace.. still have the stock airbox and filter, and the MAF. just thinking of running some sort of material from the back of the MAF to the throttle body.

I believe most of the restriction comes from the air box you'd be leaving and the snorkel in the fender.

If you just want to pretty it up, go for it- let us know how it works.

You could make a cheap intake from what you've described, plus a cone filter and MAF adapter (they sell on Ebay for like $5).

Be careful with this. You can really screw up your fuel tables by altering the MAF sensor's readings. See the cold air intake debate thread in the EJ20 forum for a full tech explanation of why it's not a good idea.

Well you can do it, but you still have to have all the PCV etc. pipes routed to that part of the intake as well. The other thing you can do is use the non-box style intake that the 1.8's use... Its still black plastic, but theres no box, just straight piping.
