Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

EJ22 Falls On Face

Hi I put a Weapon r Intake on my EJ22 obs.Car only has 40k On it.Anyways Now from a dead stop if you give it gas fast It wants to fall on its face than pick up and go.!!Is there a way to fix this? Or just Live with it and roll a little befor you hammer down?I also hooked a switch up to make my suby 2wd and flick the swith to make it 4wd.Noticed better MPG and ALOT quicker off the start besides the bogging off the start. If anyone wants to do this the 2wd thing let me know.Takes less that 2min unless you want to hook the switch up than takes 15-20 min..

i have a weapon-r dragon intake on my 98 L 2.2l, i replaced the dragon filter it comes with, with a standard cone filter i read that the foam filters from weapon-r cause problems.. I havnt had a single problem with my intake though...

Mines a 98 also. I do have a K&N i could put on instead of that foam filter. It only happens from a dead stop and you stomp the gas..Car almost like it wants to stall than takes off..I'll try it

I'm curious about the 2WD switch.
Would be very handy for long road trips.

Sounds like autos to me. You cant switch manuals to 2wd mode, and the auto switch is also rather sketchy.... I would never do it myself.

Hmmm... could it be that the ECU is still adapting to the new intake? Did you disconnect the negative battery terminal when you did the install? If so... how long did you let the car idle after the install was done?

I have to concur... it sounds like an auto.
