04 WRX falls on it's face,,, help
A freind of mine is working in a 04 WRX, it starts fine, idles fine, everything looks good at idle, and you can drive it around like a gramma all day long, when you get in it, the timing goes to almost +40 and the boost never comes up, it stumbles like it's out of fuel, or hitting the cut. tried known good turbo, DP/cat section, and computer. Anybody seen or heard of anything like this? Any help would be great.
this is gonna suck to say but pull the up pipe and shake it, if the cat is loose at ALL then replace the up pipe. just had one of these cars in at the dealership and this is what it was.
if it seems like it wants to boost but it just doesnt have the gusto, pre cat turbo is a must check outside the obvious vaccuum/sensor, etc. good luck

thats pretty random
sounds about as fun as finding a vaccume leak
+40 is high if you are spooling up when my turbo starts to come on the highest i can pull is +10
