I was just cerious on peoples opinions on this exhasust. i've been reading some stuff about it and it is sounding pretty good. so i was cerious on all your opinions on it. I have a 2002 2.5 rs if that'll make a difference. thanks.

 

I don't know much about tanabe. I know HKS make good sound if install on subaru and Apex'i N1 gets very loud

 

I hear hks makes a really nice one as well and i've really concidered it. but i have also heard that it is very loud. also concidered the Apex n1 and heard it was pretty ricy, i mean as ricy as it gets with a subaru, plus i heard a sound clip and didn't really like the tone. maybe it was just a poor sound clip. i really like the low rumble but not something that is real quite, i want people to hear it but not to the point of hearing it a couple blocks away.

 

how about getting a good silencer? will it help to reduce the sound that is too loud?

 

By using the silencer, wouldn't it make getting a new exhaust pointless? I mean by putting that in not only would it cut down on the noise but wouldn't it constrict the air flow as well? maybe i'm wrong but i mean it seems to me even if the pipes are bigger, and you don't have an outlet to back it wouldn't it be pointless to even get a new one? even if it made a difference, it would only be 1-2 hp, i mean if it's just simply the look and the sound your looking for that's great but it just doesn't seem like it would do anything for performance

 

that's true thought.....people wanna get a new exhaust bcoz they want to gain extra hp, gain loud sound like a racing car especially. Also, swapping the exhaust is a major mod.

 

doing an exhaust is a major deal. for me i just want to make sure i get the right one and not regret it. im mostly looking for the gains, then looking at style and if i'm gunna get pulled over for have an exhaust that is too loud. the the tone. i'd prefer it to be angled, i just like the look but really if i can't find anything that really goes with that then i'll be lookin at a stromung dual tip.

 

I'd like to get an Apex'i N1. It costs less than HKS' and gain much hp. Also, have nice and luod exhaust sound~

 

the tanabe line of exhausts are all under 95db, but sound mean when you get on it..
silencers arent needed and the exhaust flows realy well.

I just picked this up and it is going on in a few days. I know this might be an old thread but just want to post my thoughts. The thing sounds sweet
