Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

starting project need help

its time to start the next project. i have a 93 L wagon 1.8 auto awd and i am not sure what route to go with this car. i would love to find a wrecked rs and swap it all, but i have feeling that i am gonna have to settle for maybe a wrecked outback wagon and go from there, or does anyone have any other suggestions. my goal is appearance and a little something to back it up maybe 2.5 w/2.2 heads, it doesnt need to be an all out racer. i want to find a whole car because i am going through some wiring probs (power windows only working from drivers switch, car will sometimes stay running after being shut off) and beat doors and fenders.

It sounds kind of beat up. Are you wanting to keep the Auto or do you want a 5 speed? from your description i'd say sell it and use the money on a down payment for a OBS or something like that. If it has wiring issues, you want to swap the whole drivetrain, and the exterior is beat up requiring new fenders and doors... well that sounds like a lot of work. You might be better off getting a different car. It could end up being an uphill battle. But you'll most likely want a wrecked RS. You shouldn't have to much trouble finding a 98 to 05 RS. They're more common these days I think. You might end up paying 2000 bucks for one tho depending on how bad the "totality" is. I think you should be able to find a RS engine complete for about 700 dollars with like 70k miles on it or so. Good luck with your project.

cheers
