Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Question Spark Plugs

What are changing to new spark plugs gonna do for my car? I was thinking about putting new ones in but I wanted to get some input for everyone. On top of that, if I upgraded my spark plugs which ones would be the best to change to??

Ya, I made the mistake of putting Denso Iridiums in too early, and they were way too much for my engine, so bad, that I had a misfire in Cyl. 3 today. I put autolite plats in and they work great. Just my .02

hey i was over today at the subaru shop looking at my car, they had the engine apart, and the guy told me that you sho7uld just run the regular ngks in the engine, not the platinums, ngks' are going to work the best, i forget why he said you should not run the platinums though, ru8n the regular copper ones, ooh yeah, i saw my piston heads and there was a lot of carbon build up he said for like 33000m , i have pllatinum plug, who knows i thinnk he may be right, it is his job to rip them apart and put them back together so iguess he must know something, right.

I've actually heard that as well. For some reason some of the service techs at my local dealership told me that even if I don't get the plugs from them, don't run the platniums. Interesting...
