Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Ya...you have to pull the valve covers, then get onto the bolts that hold the cam down (cant remember what theyre called right now). then you have to pull the cam seals and everything.

Doable in the car, but lots easier outside of it.

I think if I were doing my cams, I'd at least attempt to remove the entire heads with the block in the car, and take the opportunity to replace the studs and hardware and gaskets. Having the head clamped to the bench would be as easy as having the motor out, and removing the heads seems like it would be slightly easier than pulling the whole motor. Turning the wrenches might be a little more difficult, but not having to disconnect EVERYTHING under the hood and put it back together might be worth it.
