I manage to have a check engine light ever since day one of slapping on the intake and a muffler of all things. I um hate to say but got bent over badly on a weapon R intake for $180. Yeah laughter is good to cease and then $200 for a muffler and I have the CEL. It kinda randomly comes on and off and usually stays on for a couple weeks at a time. It will come in during driving randomly and I take it to subaru and they deny the light coming on yet it is still on when I pick it up. I am tired of having to take it to Knechs to have it removed. Will I possibly rid myself of it by just getting a real intake and a full cat back? i was thinking of doing the GanzFlow but making it a 3" piping instead. Any advice on mods to get rid of this relentless CEL? Any help is great before i stick electrical tape over the light to make it leave. Thanks

CEL light common
Hey,
The CEL you are having is common.
The computer is touchy.
Your problem is from the Air intake, not the catback...
The air intake will not give you a signifigant performance increase.
They sound cool, that's it. Oh yaeh, air intakes look nice and dress up the engine bay. Blow off valves are the same, cool noise. I have heard that most air intakes will get CEL's unless you update or add to the computer.

The dealer who said they have no record when they check your car if full of
S#$t, or they don't know what they are doing. Even if your CEL comes on, then turns off, your computer stores what the problem was and all of your cars #s at that time (ie. rpm)
Maybe, just maybe, there is a short in that light. Maybe the dealership did check the computer, and nothing showed up. Doubtful though.
My buddy has a subaru computer. When my light comes on, we can check to see why. It has always been a missfire at around 2k rpm when I stutter start letting the clutch out, when the car is cold. Once we check it, we then clear the error, and my light goes off.
