difference in 1.8 and 2.2 heads
Is there a diff in the heads on the 1.8L and 2.2L SOHC motors. Would there be any gains in putting on the heads from the biger engine.
Im under the influance the only differance in the wto motors is the bore. 1.8=3.46 and 2.2= 3.81.
If there is a gain in swoping heads . Has anyone dont it? ad would the comps all be the same?

Cylinder Head
Yes, the 1.8 and 2.2 have a interchangeable cylinder head. At subaruparts.com the part number for both are the same. Check it out:

ok, From looking at the link you gave us im guessing that the cams are different. And i also found somewhere else that the stroke makes the diff in the displacement. So im guessing that the comp has a better fuel map for the 2.2.
So basicly what i am figurin on doing is swoping 2.2 heads and comp on the 1.8. With the shorter stroke ill have a slitely quicker reving engine. And that will be all fine and dandy when i slap on my T3-T04b hybrid that is waisting away on my kitchen table. Let thhe quicker revs make up for the lag from that a$$ turbo.
