peformance intake manifold gaskets?
I remember reading some where about some intake manifold gaskets that are supposed to keep the intake from heating up. Does anyone remember this? Does anyone make these? I dont really remember the name of the gaskets but.. if anyone does I'd like to do some research on them, might be a worthwile mod.

They're called phenolic spacers, and the idea is to make a gasket out of material with a very high specific heat, so it doesn't pass it from the heads to the intake manifold. Unfortunately I have no idea where you'd get them for a Subaru. Maybe there's some Porsche or VW engine that has the right port dimensions? If so, I'm sure there will be spacers for it.

thats the place that has it
they only have it for the wrx iono if u would want to move this to the wrx forums... i dont know if it will work on the non-turbo engines because i dont know if the pattern for the intake manifold is the same. i would guess it is though.
