p0420 cel
p0420 cel
i have a '01 rs and put a borla header on everything else is stock. i keep getting the p0420 cel code. is the mechanical cel fix the best. (this may be a dumb question but) if so do i put it on the front o2 or rear. i am also getting some popping from the exhaust is this normal?

Well, Pete's method will work, or you can buy the PDM O2 bung extension:

www.boxer4racing.com sells them too, but they were out of stock when I ordered mine.
That screws right in, don't need to drill anything.
However.... mine doesn't eliminate the P0420 light for more than a couple days. Helps, but only temporarily. The MIL Eliminator (electronic fix) only works for cat-delete track pipes. If you use that and have a high-flow cat, you'll get a P0136 instead (voltage error). So don't.
The only fix is a propsed P0420 elimination that www.i-speed.us is reportedly working in to their next round of SRS-10 and SRS-20 ECU reflashes, due out in late summer or so.
