Outback/2.5 RS Question

Outback/2.5 RS Question
I know they both have the 2.5 liter but my question is, do they have the exact same motor and if so does that mean that 2.5RS intake kits , exaust, and turbo kits will fit the Outback as well? the reason i ask this is cause my mom has an 01' outback and i want her to buy some mods for it and i cant seem to find anything for the outback

01 OBS has a 2.2L engine. As far as I know, the Legacy Outback and the Impreza 2.5RS where the only 01's that had the 2.5L engine. I am sure that the 01 OBS did not come with that engine, though. Now, if you were talking about a current gen OBS, then, yeah, it would have a 2.5L, but pre-02, the 2.5RS was the only Impreza available with the 2.5L engine.
