Oil pump removal?!

hi, im replacing an o ring behind the oil pump. i am trying to take off the oil pump but it seems to be held on by some silicon type of glue or something. i took off the 7 bolts holding it on but it wont budge. anyone know anythign about removing this?
its not an ej20.. its actually a 1.8. but still. if anyone can help it would be great, thx.

The following procedure for the removal of the oil pump applies to the EJ20 turbo so use this information at your own risk.
The rubbery stuff you see is silicone sealant. You will need a tube of high-quality silicone for the re-installation. I don't have any recommendations for which type to get but read the packaging to make sure it fits your needs. Use only a thin bead of the product like the diagram shows - you don't want this stuff getting into the oil passages of the block.
