Need help with exhaust

Just take it down to your favorite local exhaust shop and see what line they have. Be it magnaflow (what I have and love it) or flowmaster, whatever, and ask what they have that'll fit and perform on your application. It all depends whether you have stock headers, cat(s) and if your midpipe will have a resonator or not. If you have a 2.25 system up to the muffler, you should get a muffler that is 2.25 in and out. My magnaflow is straight through with no baffles to get in the way, more like a perforated core design but I need a resonator to cut down the raspiness since I have a high flow cat as well. I got a stainless 2.25 catback installed for $300 (add 60-80 for a resonator) and the magnaflow has a lifetime warranty.
If you just get a catback (not modifying the cats or headers) you should get a nice sound with any well built performance muffler- that is why they are performance parts...I've also heard the universal Borla mufflers have a very good sound and are inexpensive. The link above is to turbo mufflers. Wander around borlas site some more and you'll find something for your car.

flowmaster#s these are for compacts
strait through 2" 952060
2 1/4" 952460
offset 2" 952062
2 1/4" 952462
these are for bigger motors but will sound better.

oh ok. Thanks for the info, I'm just stupid. For my tip to line up I would need the offset 2.25" one right?? Or would I just need the straight through?
Thanks,

The offset muffler will (should) still be straight through, just not in a straight line. Mine is offset but you can still look right through the thing, before it's installed of course. You should get the offset one for ease and fit, a shop could make either fit but offset is the way to go. The angled exit look is cool too, IMO, and you get even less bends, more flow, when done correctly. Kinda the way the Apex'i exhaust looks, but that needs more of a 'can' muffler than the stock shape.

Oh ok, sounds good. I just talked to my local muffler shop and they wouldn't order me a Flowmaster basically because they suck. They recommended me to a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler for $80.00 instead. What do you guys think?

maybe they get deals with dynomax you never know, but i don't see any body here that has a dynomax muffler and is saying any thing about it.a few people have flowmaster or magnaflow and really like it.check out magnaflows web site its got some nice mufflers with videos.

ok I will. Thanks guys. Well, they told me that if I don't like it I can get my money back so I'm at least gonna try it and see. I just hope that my car isn't too loud after it's all said and done
Kinda scared about it cause I don't want my car to be loud like all the other ricers. Just want some 'more power!'

That muffler they recommended sounds like the turbo muffler the guy put on my honda. Not much louder, but it whistled. I wouldn't get it again. I would go with a flowmaster or magnaflow.

Well, I picked up my car today and I am pretty satisfied with the parts. It's not too loud, but still give a deep note. On WOT it isn't that bad at all. I give it two thumbs up. Here is a few pics of the tip, muffler, and midpipe

They charged me $80 for the 2.25 midpipe, $90 for the muffler (lifetime warranty), $35 for the SS tip, and $25 for the labor install. Ended up being like $240 or a bit less. There is some slight gains but not much, I really like the tone of it though
