Smile need advice: spark plugs and suspension

I'm currently driving a '01 2.5RS. the only change I've made are the lights; sylvania silverstars.

I just need some simple advice: which type of spark plugs i should look into and what should I do about the suspension (in means of shocks, sway/strut bars, etc.)

thing is, I'm currently working off of a modest income, so I want to make the right choices before spending the money.

so any advice would be much appreciated!

NGK V-Power Spark Plugs BKR6E-11 gapped to 0.044 (something like that).

Best $7 spent for plugs.

Edit: 02/03 WRX rear sway bar is the best first suspension mod.

NGK

If you have the money buy some DMS coilover 50mm. Best damn suspension ever.

what's a "modest income?"

I switched to NGK Iridium IX from running coppers for 2 years (coppers you need to change 10k-15k), and these things are great. Iridums are good for about 30k.

I'm running DMS40's with 350lb front and 300lb back, DMS solid plates all around, and that costed me $2000... that was hooked up through DMS NA since I know Mark there. My set was a rebuilt set he had laying around. Retail, it's a $3200 with all the stuff I have on there.

DMS 50mm is nearly $4200 starting out!

If you need a budget coilover, try the Megans or the Helix ( www.Gruppe-S.com)

Prodrive springs and AGXs with at least a 20mm rear sway bar is probably what you are really looking for right now, and should run you about $750.

Agreed. Denso or NGK are pretty much all the the subarus like. Bosch does not work well in our cars.

quick question: I've found 'strut mounts' are available for purchase; would I need to get a set?

thanks for the advice.

what's your budget for all this?

strut mounts alone? no, no need. they would be nice to have upgraded ones with an ungraded suspension.

I'm looking into spending around $2000 right now.

I figured that my first mod to the car should be suspension and control, and also a small 'upgrade' with spark plugs.

If the car is pretty much a street driven car, and not raced much in any form of motorsports, those Megan Coilovers are great for street driving.

You can use the rest of your 1100 on other tidebits. I'd suggest tires and wheels as well... this should put you at $2000
