My car tells me when I need an oil change?
When my car gets around 3000 mi past its last oil change, I start to get a ticking that increases with the rpm's. Once I change the oil the sound completely goes away. What do you think could be happening?

I have 137K miles on the car, car is in great condition. I have an intake, exhaust and I used to have a ProEcm, I had nitrous for a short while but the sound was presant prior to the nitrous. It's history is a bad starter, torn shift boots, bad sensors, and a leaking cam gear gasket. Everything has been taken care of and around 130K miles I had a "100K mile treatment" where they replaced gaskets and seals. When I drive I beat the snot out of my car. No compression test. I have used 10w 40, 20w 50, and now im using Synthetic oil

WOW thanx.
I guess I was concerned that if we were discussing a very high mileage/low compression engine, there could be enough blow-by to force fuel into the oil, thinning it out too much.
I have heard of folks doing a 'treatment' with Marvel Mystery oil or Sea Foam to clean up/cure lifters. do a search over at www.usmb.net .Legacy777 I think wrote about his experience with Sea Foam.
post back if you are able to find a cure OK?
