I mean these aftermarket companies have dyno proven specs, so how do we figure out what they are? anyone gone through all this already for the ej25? how'd you go about it?

How much did they charge you to do the cams? (is it a DOHC or SOHC?) Also, curious how long it took them to get the parts back to you...thanks

So was that after a core refund or anything like that?? That's a good deal but did you get to keep your original cams in while they made yours or did you actually loose your car for 3 weeks? Could they order the part they need so you could still have a car while they build the new ones? I guess my cost would still be about the same since the SOHC on Subarus is still actually two cams (DOHC=4). Kinda weird...let me know- thanks

o ya... theres no core fund becaue they use your cams. but.... if you do what i did go get another set. its so much cheaper and you get what you wont at the fraction of the cost 175 compared to cobb's 1000 HELL NO. i would rather be out of the subby fora week or so.

So you DID get a new (separate) set of cams for when you did it or not?
Your 2.5, along with all other EJ engines (all new suby engines are in the EJ line-up), has 16 valves or 4 per cylinder. 2 inlet and 2 exhaust for each cylinder.
I wonder what a whole separate set of cams would run me, then I'd have to add the grind time labor and all that stuff. Sounds like it would be close to $1000 anyway, everything said and done. I've also heard that the modified cams lose strength and are easier to break/bend- did you ever have any problems with that?

That is what is said to cause the weakness on the Cobb cams. The fact that they are rewelded and grinded stock cams. Something about air bubbles caused in the welding process. Look it up. Seriously do a search.
