Unless you are getting AVCS with the JDM motor, it's not really worth it. Is this going into an RS? Wiring harnesses are a nightmare when you change motors. Also, the JDM motor won't pass emissions, while the USDM will.

Turns out that what I am getting from a Japanese motor importer is what must have been the motor from the US version 2.5 RS. Apparently they never made the 2.5 RS with the DOHC ej25 for release in Japan. Supposedly the motor is an early '99 that has the DOHC heads and came out of a 2.5 RS. The sales rep saw it come out of the crate shipped from Japan. I guess we'll see when it gets here.

MY98's and i think early MY99's came with DOHC Phase 1 EJ25 (USDM). If your going to be putting this engine into a 2.5RS you would be better off with a SOHC Phase 2 EJ25 which is considered stronger than the DOHC and has more aftermarket parts if you're going to mod.
