Its Pulley time....recommendations? MY00
Its Pulley time....recommendations? MY00
So far I've just added a short ram intake. Now I'm looking into putting a pulley on. Anyone recommend a part for me? Brand..etc...
I figure this would be an inexpensive mod, and possibly something I could perform myself.
How hard is it to do this mod? I checked out scooby mods and it seems simple, but I'm not familiar with tensioning and how much slack needs to be on the belts...
Opinions please

its fairly difficult, you want to get an UR pulley, as the ebay ones dont have holes for the puller/tightener tool you'll hafta use, to get the pulley off the easiest way is to get a big breaker bar with the right size socket (i dont recall) set it on the drivers side frame rail, or the alt (with belts off) and crank the engine over for about 1 sec, that should break it loose
I was using the scoobymods.com page for reference on how they did it. I guess it's not as easy as they made it seem.
So your saying the tough part is just loosening the bolt holding the pulley?
Is there anything I need to do to make sure the belts are tightened properly or still have the recommended tension? Or is it not something to worry about?
I'm assuming by you recommending the "UR" pulley, that stands for Unorthodox Racing right? I saw a silver one online, but have also seen red ones that looked like a different size.
If I decide to change the belts to new ones, there isn't a performance difference is there?

Perrin makes a nice anthracite aluminium OEM sized (not underdrive ~ so you can use existing belt). www.rallitech.com has them.
I've been reading some statistics and it seems underdrive pulleys produce more HP. Even though it's minimal HP, i would still like to get the most out of it.
I would like to go with the better part, I dont mind buying new belts..
UR also makes a OEM replacement pulley as well, and it's about $80 cheaper than the underdrive....
