Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

impreza L

ok my friend has a 98 impreza L i was wondering if 2.5RS(of same year) parts can fit such as: suspention mods and maybe a jspec Ej20T would that work? hes slightly discouraged about owning an automatic L and hes even been to all the Auto X events in it....hes dedicated but isnts ready for all the payments of a bugeye....so if anyone has any intel taht would be awsome as i know I-Club is a freindly group of individuals....

thank you for your time!!

josh.

Why not just sell the L and use the money to buy one that isnt an automatic? I think a 2.2 with a 5 spd and some suspension mods is quite a fun car to drive, and he could probably switch to a 5 spd without losing any money. Just a thought. FWIW, I own a 95 L wagon with a 5 spd and 1.8. It's not fast in any way, but people are always asking me if it's a turbo, because it goes pretty fast around turns, even with the 1.8.

yea he always drives it agressively and what not but hes saving up money and little by little he doesnt think he can get a new one...or a 2.5rs.....so we figured doing a complete conversion....i have contacted nippon-motors.com about an eJ20t and they want 650 for it with the manifolds turbo, intercooler etc....then 150 for shipping and maybe we can find a tranny on this place....but how much do bugeye turbos go for? and would selling acually be the best option?

BTW im an RX-7 owner....and you guys seems much more helpful than alot of us....lol just thought id throw that out there......

Its cheaper to do conversions these days then buy something else.

tires are generic sir. just need the right width/rim size. if you are talking about wheels, then yes they fit perfect. use an offset of +48-55

Damn near everything will fit in the L. The L is a better platform than the 2.5 RS because it has no sun roof giving it a stiffer lighter chasis. My friend just picked upa 5MT L for $1,900 and it is a good car.

I have 93 L, so far I change the color, wrx seats, wrx wheels, wrx stereo, wrx brakes (front), STI muffler, KYB GR2 struts, eibach springs. It's amazing how they bolt in.

Mastermind, do you happen to live in PA?

Also, check out the conversions forum. Alot of detailed information can be found in there.

ha ha, thats the same exhaust setup i have, minus the fact youre missing my header..

theres two schools of though when it come to custom exhausts.... those who are really happy with theirs ( Apex'i N1 axleback/custom midpipe/Borla header ) and those that denounce it. you can go either route, but the custom way is a lot less expensive. my setup was 320 for the header, 50 for a slightly used N1 axleback, and 60 for a custom midpipe, so 440, compared to 320 for the header and 600 for the catback........
