I think you're in the wrong forum? Oh well, anyway... I'd go for the HKS Hi-Power since it makes the most power gains and is 50 state legal. The Blitz is also a good choice, but it's one loud ***** (although it makes about as much power as the HKS). The Apexi N-1 is the most economical of the three though, and it makes pretty good power and has a smoother sound. All three are good choice, but in the end I'd personally get the HKS.

Try looking for the older model HKS Hiper then... there should still be some places that have it. If they don't, you can always go for one of the others (still very good systems). Try posting this in the NA Thread; you might get more help

Just get whatever you want. All will make around the same hp, just go for the look and sound you prefer.

I struggled with this question for quite some time and came to a decision. I imagine that you are planning on spending in the upward range of $500 or so. I payed a visit to my local muffler shop and had a cat-back system fabricated with 2.25" piping and a Magnaflow universal muffler. I believe that Ban would agree with me as he has a similar set up, it sounds great. Its deep, its throaty and I think its pretty damn sexy. I don't have access to an all wheel drive dyno so I couldn't make any claims to gains, but I definatly feel it up top. The moral of the story? I spend $190 total and the quality is great. Granted that has a lot to do with your local shop, but that would definatly be an option to look in to. Hope that helps.

I too say go the custom route. You will save over $200 and it will sound just as good with a magnaflow. I was debating over what to get for ages and then decided after asking many people that custom was the way to go.

I'm interested in fabricating a cat-back for my wife's Outback; what is the optimal piping size for the largish 2.5L H4? I would think that 2.75" or maybe even 2.5" would be about right, but I'm not all that familiar with the boxer-type engines. Sorry if I hijacked.
