Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

im estimating about 4-6 horsepower. Either way its a good, cheap way to gain horsies and to keep your car from not breathing in crappy air.

my vote is always for getting an anti lift kit... I know on my car it made it handel way better and has a relitivly low price...
If you want go fast bits, I up graded my intake and noticed nothing, I added an under drive pully and experenced a little bit of gain, I got a borla header and noticed no gains, when I replced the head gasket i port matched every thing... so all of this leads to me believe that the performance restrictions are eather in the exhaust system or the computer department.
First step in any performance car is get it to breathe easier, intake and exhaust!

I got Cobb Headers coming. Yeah!!!

But intake is the most popular first power mod. Since the car is taking more air, the next mod is to let it out.

i put a K&N into my 99L. it didnt do anything. and they filter about as good as a screen door. stick with your paper filter. sure your engine gets 5 cfm more air. big deal. the air it gets is absolutely horrible.

I had a CAI before I put in the K&N. The CAI made it a little louder. Faster? Maybe a wee bit. After the K&N, not much differance. But remember to get the most out of any intake, you need to let all that extra air out via exhaust system. My EL Headers are on it's way.

Another good starting mod is a kartboy short shifter..GREAT improvement over the stock.
This may sound a bit off but a catback also works great...less restrictive piping in my '05 RS really loosened it up. Also have a Green Filter instead of a K&N and did a snorkle-ectomy for the intake box.

Exclamation K&N = fouled MAF sensor

I also have a 2005 RS 2.5, and the drop-in K&N filter I got fouled the MAF sensor. It happened within a few days, with a brand new K&N, got a CEL and blinking CRUISE light.
Had to clean the MAF sensor and put the EOM filter back and reset the ECU.
The car did feel more alive with the K&N though...

Just spend the money on a weapon-r. You wont be disapointed with the $160 you spend.
