I was driving and all of a sudden my car became "jerky" (I was in 2nd gear coming to a stop maybe doing 25 mph). When I put the car in neutral (5 spd manual) my rpm shot up to 4000 *CEL flashing. After stepping on the gas a couple of time the rpms fell to 2000 .. but it stayed between 2000 and 3000, *CEL steady on. I'm thinking it's an oxygen sensor (I was told RS has about 4(?)) . What do you guys think? Also, anyone know if shops (like Pep Boys or RS Strauss) would help you pull the code? I already made an appointment with the dealer but that is my last option since I'm not made of money.. hehehe. Anyone know of any websites selling the OBD-II software for our cars? Thanks again.

 

just out of curiosity, how many miles on ur car and what are ur mods?

 

It's a MY2000 rs with no mods and it has 50,029 miles on it..

 

autozone will check the code for free. My check engine light came on, so i went there, and they pulled the code, and printed off what was wrong with it for me. Ive also heard pep boys will do it for free too.

 

Whta's the code? misfire?
