Hey guys Im in the process of looking for an '02 wrx. I was wondering if anyone could post up what their average idling rpm is and their average or general engine temp is. Will this also help to sort out the well-tuned cars, from the not-so-well tuned cars??? Thanks for all the help

 

I usually idle at 1500rpm in the morning (cold start), and 500 when i start it warm. No major mods besides stage1 ap at the moment.

 

When the car has reached operating temp it should idle at the next line below 1k rpm. I think our cars idle at 700rpms not 500. Cold starts are around 1500rpms and steadily drop.

i just assumed that next line below 1k was 500rpm. i stand corrected hehe. good info.

 

I always thought it was 500 too but was told otherwise.

on the tach that comes with the car it looks like 500

but look at some one that has an electronic tach and you can see hwo far it is off
