As for me i would recommend just going for the ej20t, u don't have to spend lots of money compared to the ej25

I'd just sell your car and use that extra money to buy either an RS or WRX. Save yourself alot of work and headaches. Probably cost you about the same when its all said and done. (well for an RS at least)

Anyhow if you've the $$ to play with, just buy a used WRX and go from there.

Those links listed above will tell you a lot more than I can ever tell you. However, it's my reasoning that although you can turbocharge the 2.5 liter RS engine, it is open deck meaning that the EJ20T will be more reliable since it, I think, has a closed deck. Taking price into consideration, the 2.5L swap will be cheaper, but if you are thinking of going turbo, it would probably be cheaper just to go ahead and get the turbo EJ20 motor.

I agree, if you want to go turbo use the EJ20. The EJ25 has a higher compression ratio so you would have to run low boost if you wanted to keep it somewhat reliable. Not to mention thats another can of worms your opening when you decide to turbo an EJ25 along with an engine swap.
