Hello guys i have a 96L impreza 2.2 with almost 150k on the motor, and i was wondering if i turbo it will it shorten the life spand of my suby or can it even take a turbo at this point? im realy considering buying a tubro from forced air technology here in az but just wondering if it would be worth it or just get a new car/engine?

 

i dont really know about that model and year, but with that many miles, you should probably get another engine and turbo that. im sure someone who knows more about it can give you some advice. how much was the kit?

 

ya, I wouldn't waste money on a turbo at this point, Instead i'd do a wrx or sti swap, because no matter how many miles you have a turbo will shorten the life of the engine

but some guy on ebay is selling it for $600 cuzz its used and doesnt come with the gagues,engine management and some part of the catalityc converter on the kit was cut to fit a legacy. i think its a good deal in perticular i dont make much money and i usualy take chances like this but yea my ej22 has a lot of miles so i dunno wat to do but thnx for ur replys and i would appreciate any other tips thnx

I guess it is hit or miss. Check out Rallitek's site. They have an AVO turbo kit that runs at 5-6psi or something, and it claims to jump your power 60% or something.

 

im running a total custom setup with an older turbo legacy turbo, its a vf11, a forester XT top mount stock fuel system accept for rising rate fuel pressure regulator.

 

Oh thats sicc i was wondering to do the same but i probly wont find up/down pipe thats were my problem is i can get everything else

 

look on ebay for used stock up/down pipes [you can find em pretty cheap]

 

i had to make my own up and down pipes, if you know how to weld its uber easy, if not, well its hard, lol
