Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Its always really hard to find parts for the newest model, I had an 05 and by the time i traded it in for the 06 i think there was only a handful of parts for it, if that much. I would research to see if they changed anything major from the 06 to the 07, if not you should be able to use all the 06 parts.

I am not sure what the sticker is on the 2.5, but I'd say spend a little more and go with the WRX model. I think you'll save in the long run, since the parts for the 2.5 NA series is expensive and hard to come by.

well, of course the Hood Scoop on the Turbo models, and the weight of the hoods themselves are a factor .. IIRC

I'm with you slvr on the cost of ownership, my best peice of advise is to look up a local tuner shop and hope they are cool, I learned alot about what parts to get thier, the only other option i know is keep hanging out here untill enough people have 07's and want to mod them.
In the past i beleive the STi's had a widder wheel base, and that the 2.5i and the wrx actually had more in common then the wrx to the STi

I have an 06 2.5i and the hood is aluminum, where is the weight difference compared to a WRX? From what I've read though, suspension upgrades are the starting point for the new na's. I'm still waiting for something to really boost the power to come out.

Exterior Body parts (like lip kits, diffusers ect) are interchangable between the wrx/sti and the 2.5 from 06-07. Suspension wize the springs from +04 wrx fit like a charm i havent gone any further then that but I did purchase a short shifter for a 05+ wrx and if that works I will let ya know.
Tein H-Techs give a nice drop and arent as bouncy as the S-techs. Pinks ride the best but the drop is hardely noticable.

The shifters from the WRX will work (and ofcourse the STi doesn't since its 6-speed)
