Genuine STI Air Filter Element

Does genuine STI Air Filter Element fit '99 2.5RS?

Not sure about the 1999, but it should fit a 2000-2001.

Several people are turning away from K&N and other such filters. The STi one is supposedly a very good paper/mesh filter. I still have my K&N but may get one of those.

I use a K/N air filter in my 04 WRX and I never had a problem.
From what I hear the K/N air filter flow's more CFM's than the stock paper
air filter.

The Green and K&N are oiled and can cause the MAF sensor to foul from the oil. The STI (paper) and HKS (3 layered foam) seemed to flow as well or better and gives the owner no worries of a fouled MAF sensor.

I went HKS (cheaper then the STI) as it seemed to work the best of the 4 (purely butt dyno and sound at WOT!).
