Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

BAD idea, not only will it be hard to do, but it wont be worth it...AT ALL! reasons: sohc 2.5 heads flow like the grand canyon and are proven to be more reliable, dohc heads have head gasket issues and dont have any real good thing about them, heres the biggest thing THEY BOTH MAKE THE SAME HP!: 165. aside from computer issues from swapping heads trying to run a sohc computer on a dohc car, it will work, but WHY is the question. Maybe you mean dohc wrx heads? if so it would require the intake manifold and flapper valves, and hp gains would be minimal. if you want to do a head swap to increase HP, go with sohc phaze II 2.2 heads, they flow pretty well, and they would increase the comp ratio to about 11 to 1...it would be a potent little stoplight battler.

I hear over from NASIOC that the techworks phase II cylinder head set (SOHC and DOHC) w/ 2.5" exhaust can blow the WRX away and keep up with the STi. (Both being stock of course). I don't know how true this is. However, the email came from Techworks. And I really respect what they do to NA Subarus.

Opinions?

explain why then i'll listen, sohc heads flow better, make the same HP and are more reliable in the head gasket dept and you'll only have to buy 2 cams, not 4! and spark plug changes are a breeze...so why are the dohc's better?
