Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Does any company make a direct bolt-on axel back exhaust for a 2007 impreza 2.5i?

Does any company make a direct bolt-on axel back exhaust for a 2007 impreza 2.5i?

I have bad experiences with custom exhaust systems, and I'm looking for a direct bolt-on. Is their one?

Thanks.

do the wrx exhaust systems fit? from what I hear one bracket needs to be moved is this true? since the wrx has larger piping would the flanges still work together?

from what i gather 06-07 WRX catbacks bolt right up to the 2.5i...

if you want one made for the 2.5i boxer4racing.com has a midpipe and axleback you can buy (separate) that bolts right on...i'm currently using that, took like 5min to install once it was on a lift

i didn't have a rotate and weld anything for it to work...and im pretty sure the 06-07 CBE's are the same way since they both now use that same flange connection

I have heard also that axle backs can bolt right on, but I don't see how. wrx has 3" pipes.

can on the WRX the flange for the axleback is flared but it still uses the same bolt locations...so it's the same surface area on the flange

if you look on ebay, they have both 2.5" and 3" catback systems!

also the flanges remain the same. its the flange hole thats increased (the main big hole) [for axle back systems] thats why they make a full catback system, that flares from the stock 2.5" piping to 3"

Check boxer4racing.com. They have stromung axlebacks and a midpipe that is specific for the 2.5i. A little pricey but a good company. I have an 07 WRX axleback on my car.

Here are a few links:

those are only 2.25" (from boxer4racing.com)!! on the 2.5i's the cat pipe/header is 2.5"

go anything that is made for a WRX (may it only be 2.5" or 3")

3" will cause a pressure issure and you might end up throwing cels...the rule of thumb for an N/A build is to keep the exhaust within 2.25-2.5"...there isn't much of a difference...yes the heaers and cat are 2.5" BUT you want that difference in pressure to cause the gases to escape faster...going from 2.5" to a 3.0" will just slow the gases down...

it's kinda like water flow...to create speed you go from a larger pipe to a slightly smaller one...
