Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Arrow Converting MAF to MAP...

Are there any Bonuses of having a MAP system over a MAF? Is there any way to convert MAF to MAP? Do CAI’s run better on either of the two systems?

I want to do some Air Intake projects, but need to learn more before I start experimenting...

You would have to swap ECU's and redo alot of wiring. MAF is actually a better design, because its detecting airflow in the intake tract as opposed to in the throttle body area, along with one or two other technical reasons that deal with pressure vs. air flow... Im sure someone else here has a better explaination for this one.

Its better because its more responsive.

It detects as you said the air flow across a wire or panel. This determs the flow going into the engine with a reading of how hot the air is.

Map mesures the pressure and the temperature. Its inefficient at quick changes becuase it relys on the engines RPM's to determine the flow going into the engine.

Both are accurate but the MAF is definitely quick at response time.

I'd keep maf since if you have a 98-99(which I'm assuming you do) you can run a s-afc and a intake and see some good gains.
