about to buy a 94 impreza L but need info
is the chassis prepped for awd on fwd??
is it "plug and play"??

you'll need a tranny made for awd, driveshaft, perhaps shifter, rear end, rear cv joints, probably different rear suspension made for cv joints otherwise, the chassis is the same, the holes are drilled, so on...the exhaust may need changing also, if you have found a wrecked awd, go for it by all means!

 

Yeah, a complete drivetrain from the engineblock back.

Tranny
driveshaft
rear subframe
rear diff
axles
hubs

Find wrecked cars, and see how much you can get. It's been done, so don't worry. If you find an RS, All the above will fit and you get upgraded tranny, lower gears all around, bigger brakes (disk to boot)...

plus the FWD imprezas are lighter.......................hmm...or is that just becaust they dont have all the AWD drivetrain parts....???

 

You also need a new gas tank from what I heard.
