COBB Stage 1 and Fuel Requirments
Hey all.
Just ordered the COBB Stage 1 power kit for my 03 TS, so new intake and catback, and was wondering if my fuel octane requirment changes? Or what is the recomended octance to use.
Also in the future I will upgrading the manifold [when avail.] and was wondering again do I have to look at other changes to my car, such as fuel.
New to performance upgrading, but really wanting to learn, so any tips and tricks you guys have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Octane is a subject of some debate, but I've found 91 useful in the height of summer only. Maybe a bit more power, since the higher octane prevents pinging and knocking and subsequent pulling of timing.
In the winter I've run 87 or 89. 91 is unneccessary in the cold, since the engine won't be even close to pinging. There might even be more complete combustion of 87 vs 91 in the winter, hence more power.
