2002 Impreza Outback Sport 5-spd, 68,000 miles
I have recently thrown a CEL P1137, front O2 sensor of course. I reset the ECU, and it cleared, it came back on after about 4 miles. So fast forward to yesterday. I pulled the front right wheel, and unplugged the 02 sensor from the bracket, (there are only 2 correct,? one before the Cat. and one after?) anyways, I cleaned it with some canned air, and a Q-tip with Isopropyl alcohol (it was dirty in there), RESET the ECU, and the light still hasn't come back on (score!). Is that the correct FRONT 02 Sensor that the code P1137 is talking about, and does my fix sound like a logical try before replacing the O2 sensor?

most likely, your ECU was telling you that you needed to replace a o2 sensor, not just clean it...

I agree..but after just dumping 986.00 dollars on a clutch, another 200.00 for an o2 sensor is out of the question, at least this month.

$200!?!? WTF? did you go to the dealership for that? check out autozone, checkers, etc and go with a aftermarket one, dealership can be major thieves

should I have said "around 200" well the sensor ranges from like 140 - 180 alone, unless there is another front 02 sensor. Please remember that Im really , really limited in my mechanical inclination. I dunno even if the 02 sensor I pissed with is the one, its the only one I found up front, by taking the front right wheel off and reaching in there.
