Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

A/C Out, CEL, Airbags light

Hello Everybody. I bought a (seemingly) stock 2006 2.5I with 121k miles on it in Arizona and drove it back up to Washington. After 360 miles the first day, everything was great. The next morning, however, the air conditioner stopped working. The day before it worked like ice. From there I drove 590 miles north to Reedley, and everything still seemed fine. The next day I drove 360 miles to Redding, where I got a CEL. I was driving 70 mph with cruise when the cruise shutoff, the CEL came on and the cruise light started blinking. I stopped and checked the vitals, and everything seemed fine, so I drove 10 miles to the hotel to stay the night. The next morning I went to a mechanic to get the code read, which was a P0456 slight emissions evaporative leak. I was told it's no big deal and that I could keep driving. Shortly after getting it checked the airbag light came on. I continued driving up to Washington and arrived safely, but I'm wondering if I bought a lemon and where to start on the repair process. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I had the same issue with CEL and the cruise control blinking, my fix was securing the air filter in the housing and it cleared itself. The code that was read my brother recently got on his car as well.. Go through the exhaust and check for leaks. Gaskets, bad welds?

Have the alternator and battery checked. Its a fail safe in the car to start disabling items to run the car. Had the same issue with the STi once.
