Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Quality sucks, yes, and there are no power gains. But its still the cheapest header route you can go. If there is ever a crack or broken weld, just take it in to a muflfer shop and have them fix the welds for $20 like N/A says, which Is what I did with the cracked used one I got for cheap and it runs just fine. If I had the money say for an MRT system, i'd get that rather than just these headers.

Weird, only $20 for my local shop to remove the bracket thingy, close it up and fix the welds... I even came in a 2nd time to get it 100% fixed cause it leaked a little more and they did that for free.

By local shop you dont mean places like Mineke, and other brand name locations? They charge an arm and a leg...

Borla seems to have rushed into the import performance scene. My dad and I are rebuilding a Jeep CJ-7, and along with a weber-carbed, blueprinted, balanced, bored-over, and RV cammed AMC inline six we also have a Borla header ready to be hooked up on the wasteful end of things. The header is like a museum quality piece (like almost all of their previous products). I've noticed, however, that the Borla headers for the Impreza look cheap and hastily concieved compared to their prior efforts. On a number of websites the latest generation of Borla headers for the Impreza are available for near 200 dollars...seemingly a good deal. The problem is that they are not equal length, the primaries have a very small diameter, and they have rough welds on the inside, where it really counts. Overall my opinion is that they just are not nearly refined enough for the highly-tuned-small-displacement-high-revving world of Subaru (and other import) performance. Finally, is there any REAL significant physical difference between the stock Subaru header and the Borla header?

Sorry dood, but it's a free world and I just installed the Gen4 Borlas on my GT this afternoon. Don't know what the fuss is all about unless people are inspecting the insides of these with fiber-optic probes and micrometers. Mine fit nicely from the get-go, after 3 bus day delivery from Renick. Very quiet at idle and although they didn't eliminate the mid-range flat spot they come alive from 3K to redline with a nice growl through my OE exhaust with BroSpeed axle-back. For Easter special price of $275 I don't see how you can go wrong. I'll be the first to post if I have any problems with them as well. My $.02 and I'm stickin' to it.
