I didnt think they made headers for the 1.8l are you sure they know what engine you have and arent sending ones designed for the EJ22 or EJ25. I could be WAY off here but just a thought

i know what you are saying but i looked at the part numbers for the header for the 2.5 and it the same as the part number as the 1.8
it was the dual port
i dont want to force it on because if i do it will crack inside of a year and i dont want to try and take it off again
i forgot to mention that the collector on the passenger side is not even straight because the bottom pipe is pointing at the side of the collect wit the top pipe pointing directly at the collector exit

I got a quandry...
So has anybody here actually had a set of borla's fit on a 1.8 well??
There shouldn't be that much of a difference (if you say it's off by inches) in block sizes from 1.8,2.2, 2.5. They are in fact the same size, just different bore, internals etc.

it should not matter because subaru has the same PN for all NA engine except 97 and newer 2.2
and even if it was not the same PN the block on a 2.5 would be just a little bigger not smaller

well its not the head it self but the head gasket that is different but that would only change center distance by no more than .030" but i know what you mean

YES I have had borlas on my 1.8 for like ages. Sold them to an RS owner a month or so ago.
The exhaust ports are the same. In fact, the exhaust ports are IDENTICLE on all EJ series engines exept the single port EJ22's made like between 98 and 01.
There is NO spacing difference, they should bolt up just the same.

Bend them? If you mean like move the long side a little to get it on, then everyone has to do that. If you mean actually drilling out new holes, then no.
