I am looking at getting the Borla Headers and a Borla Boomer Universal Muffler, has anyone had any experience with these two? I have heard about the headers having cracking issues, but I have also heard many good things about them. Just looking for some down to earth truth about these items, I found a good place that I have bought a couple of other things from that I can get the whole package for around 500 and just bolt on, which will be awesome. thanks!

 

I have both of those on my 2.5rs. They sound sick. If your looking for a low grumbling noise then thats the setup to go.

No its not overbearing at all. When you get on the gas, its pretty loud, but just cruising, it's just a nice low rumble. To tell you the truth its the best sounding exhaust ive heard and most of my friends think that also. I say go for it.

 

i just have a knock off megan racing Muffler, with a custom 2 1/4in cat-back... it rumbles quite nicely, and if I take off the resinator, i'm pretty sure the rumble will be louder but i like it the way it is... I think it sounds better than a STi... .just wish i had a blow off also...lol

 

Anyone else running the Borla Headers with the full N/A cat back Borla #14885) on a newer model RS/OBS '04 or '05???

Sound good? Any fitment issues? I saw posted on one of the sites the bolts were a bit short for the cat to intermediate pipe... but that was it.

Just trying to confirm before my 'play card' goes back to max for the Subie :-)

For what it's worth this will be my 6th Borla system ~ yes, they sound and last that good.

 

Thanks so much guys, I was just a little worried that while crusing down the freeway my car would be too loud, I mean driving a subaru, with Perin Lowering springs, KYB GR2 struts and low profile Enkie RPM2s and Yokohama parada tires, its loud. I am willing to sacrifice, I want these mods and a little noise is fine with me. Later on I know I am going to have to dynomat though, just no money. Thanks again!

 

mine is a little droning, but the only muffler i have is the fart can on the back...love my borla headers, i'll be doing my swap soon though, so if anyone wants to buy a set of single port 2.2 borla headers they will be for sale soon

Whow! One of my mates just finished dynomatting the entire interior... AMAZING difference. Tap on the roof (yes under the headliner too) and it sounds like 4" steel.
The results, one quite and bad a** Rex. He plays his radio now at 1/2 volume and you hear every note. If it slowed it down we don't notice it.

 

All I wanna know is how much did that run him?
