any tips on modding 02 2.5?
hey ive had my 2.5rs since january 02, its an 02 model.
I want to put exhaust and intake, headers, and whatever else i can to make the most of the engine. without turboing/supercharging.
So i guess my question is what is worth spending money on and what is pointless?
anyone have experience modding this car?
thanks,
Jordon

i only have a cobb intake and stromung catback. I bought it to see how much power ill get but it doesnt give much unless i get the other stuff like headers, high flow cat or cams and you can buy pulleys too. Our na cars wont get alot of power and i am saving for a swap. So if you want to go na, just buy those but you wont get much power out of it.

The most power gains you'll get out of the NA 2.5L are head porting/polishing, cams, headers, high flow exhaust with cat, pulleys and intake. To round it off, a nice ECU tune or a Apex-i S-AFC to eliminate any rich or lean conditions.

paeco.com get a catalog though cause the website isn't that great. They have all the engine internals for most subarus, from cams to valves, dual valve springs, to sleeves and stroker kits. They will get your n/a subaru screaming.
Now if you want -alot- of power and have the loot to spend a turbo swap is -probibal- the way to go, but if you want a unique suby that you can still get good street power from than stick with what you got.

I am doing the same thing as you man, staying N/A! I have a COBB cat-back, and wednesday I will have my COBB CAI to complete stage 1. the next power mod i get will probably be a lightened pulley, COBB or TWE (most power gains) headers, eventually I want to get the Spicy Cams, and Heads. all that will put me at about 160-170 whp. Keep in mind that a stock WRX has 169 whp.
Now I do have a Progress Adj. Rear sway bar. I want to get springs, either Eibach or Prodrive, and I'm going to get the sti replica front and rear strut bars from ebay for about $50. ive talked to people who have them and they say they are good, just not name brand. the front wont do much, but the rear will help some. But my next purchase will probably be some Rota 17" wheels and new tires. sorry to ramble. but keep intouch with me man, ide like to hear what your going to do. PM me or hit me up on AIM.
