I have a 99' Forester that needs to get a new head gasket. They are charging around $1200 for job, which is reasonable for the work. What I was wondering is if they machine only the head that is leaking? Or do they do both? I really can't see how they can do only one. But if they do, I rather do the work myself and do it right(both heads). Has any one had this job done? Did they redo both heads? Thanks.

 

Yeah. That is what I thought. Everywhere I called, that is the quote I got. I think I am going to do it, that way I can see what else needs changing. Thanks
