2.5RS body compared to a impreza L

I am looking to buy a 96-98 Impreza L and drop a 2.5 rs engine into it. I need to know a few things comparing a 2.5rs 98 sedan to a L.

Whats the difference between the 2 suspensions.....
What is the difference in the transmission. Maionly need to know if the 5 speed manual is compatible witht he RS engine.
Any other major things that have to witht he engine. Not really caring about the outside untill later (i need power not looks and eventually I want to make it look like a 2.5rs)

well as for the body style if you want to make it like an RS you will want to go with a 97 on body or else you will have to swap lights and so that the hood will fit as for the rest im not real sure i own a 98 L so the RS is a little foreign to me. Hope that helps a bit.

i'mpretty sure that the side molding on the dorrs for the L actually doesn'tend at the front of the doors like the rs, there's an extra piece that goes on the front fenders and ends there. there's a lot of other things to think about, engine, suspension, tranny, interior, most of which is easy to swap. the only main thing cosmetically i can think of is paint, be willing to sand and hav painted stuff that will make an L seem more than it is. goodluck with the project.
