I have a 1.8L brighton and its not very fast. Is it worth doing any mods to the 1.8 or should I just save and do a motor swap. I can get a 2.2 real cheap at the junk yards. is that even worth swapping in or is it still going to be slow?

 

i wouldnt bother doing any mods. if i weere in your shoes, which i am, i would upgrade the suspension first, then save for a swap. i would get wrx swap or sti swap if not that im sure you would get noticeble gains from the 2.2l. alhough a wrx swap from a shop is only 4500 or less and sti swaps are 7500 or less. so thats something to think about .

 

I have a 96 brighton 1.8 and i'm in the process of putting on a '02 wrx stock turbo on it.
