Whats the model number of that flywheel? I never found any that worked with the 1.8 tranny.
Anyway, the engine just does not have power to work with no matter what you do with it (minus a turbo kit or different heads) so you really wont get much more power than what you have now from doing anything else N/A wise, including injectors/better tuning.

very true
but as for the flywheel why did you not find one that worked because the AWD trany uses the same flywheel as the RS but the difference with the RS it that it uses a different clutch
if you have the 2wd tranny the flywheel is smaller
i got my exedy from www.boxer4racing.com

i did not have any problems with the install at all except putting the motor back to the trany and i cant see why it wouldnt work
was it the clutch to the flywheel or the flywheel to engine?

it would have to be a big offset to not work because the splines on the input shaft are 1.5-2' long and the offset is not more than that
because i am using a 1.8 clutch with a flywheel for a RS it works
but my guess is that the shop you got the work done at saw a difference and since it was aftermarket part and could not do a PN search they might not have wanted to take the chance that it would not fit and take it apart again

So you didn't have to do anything to your clutch when installing that flywheel? I've wanted to do the same thing forever but didn't think the RS one would work. This would be great if I could get a flywheel. What kind of performance gains did you notice?
Thanks

i couldnt drive it back to back and the car was down for two weeks there was alittle increase but the fun to drive factor went up alot because you dont have to wait for the rpms to go down or jerk it when you dont
it revs very hard and now i want to try it with a light weight pulley
i have a friend with a stock 96 1.8 5sp and next week im going to see if i can drive it just to feel the difference
