hi, i just bought an sti. its an '05 with like 6,000 miles. anyway, is there like a safe mode that the car can or will go into if you drive it too hard. recently my check engine light went on, then it turned off. and now it feels like it has less power, and when i let off the gas, the the rpm level floats a little before it drops. if anyone would have any ideas i would appreciate it.

Sounds like a Limp Home Mode... I'd get the code pulled immediately!

 

Any mods yet?

I have had fuel cuts a couple of times, accompanied by a CEL. The most common issue was boost creep after installing a Blitz SBC with the stock turbo and waste gate. The other issue I had before installing new injectors was fuel cut because injector duity cycle was too high.

If you don't have any mods, I would get it into the shop asap.
