I read somewhere that its suppose to be distilled water... but the saleperson told me just regular water is fine. What do you guys put in the I/C sprayer tank?

 

I would use distilled water.

 

i use water. theres a guy in HIIC that actually uses a mixture with a certain alcohol(rubbing one i think)

Distilled water is best, depending on how hard your tapwater is. Mineral deposits will clog your sprayers eventually, and possibly foul the pump. Mixing a little rubbing alcohol in helps cool the IC more by evaporating faster, but it's not really necessary.

 

This might sound stupid but where can I buy distilled water?

 

at the market it says distilled on it

 

Don't forget to use Distilled water when you flush your radiator.

 

also alcohol may not be compatible with the rubber lines?

Keep the mixture low and it's okay.

 

I was browsing this and saw something very wrong. Adding a small amount of any type of alcohol to water RAISES the boiling point. Look up boiling point elevation/ freezing point depression in a chem book. The only way to get a lower boiling point is to use more alcohol than water, and then it will probably have some adverse afects on the I/C spray system. Just stick to distilled water.

 

What about the water freezing in the winter?

 

Fill the tank about halfway in the winter, it won't freeze this way.

 

Alot of people use windshield washer fluid in the winter.

 

Alcohol will help prevent freezing in the winter.
