Tuning the STi

So I have a small problem.

I currently own a 07 STi and I was wondering if you guys could give me either some advice or your opinion on what you would do in my situation. I have had my STi for about 2 1/2 months now and I have about 850 miles on it, its pretty much my daily driver and I only drive it about 2-5 miles a day (local miles). On the weekends i'll take her out for a spin and drive all day long (freeway miles). I just received my COBB SS 3' Catback System, Invidia V2 Catless Downpipe, and my AccessPort V2. I will be installing the turboback this Friday and I was gonna marry my AP to my car right after I installed the parts. I thought about it and talked to Mike at GST Motorsports and this is what he told me.

"Hey Andrew,

Nothing dumb about any question mate!, to be honest I would put 1500 miles
on the car prior to marrying the AP. I know that might seem a little extreme
but I have seen the best performance from the cars with that added few
hundred easy miles on them prior to modification. I would give the car until 1500 miles prior to the tune,
helps with the ring seal on the motor and will provide better results.

Best Regards,

Mike"

So seeing as how I have 850 miles on my car, do you guys think I should just wait till I get about 1200-1500 miles before using my AP or what?

i would wait. Mike is a great tuner and knows his stuff. you going to get it tuned there also?

when i was getting tuned he asked me what gas i used. i told him chevron and he told me to run 76 not chevron because it was causing me to pull timing. i ran two more tanks of chevron, then went to 76. i noticed that the car has a bit smoother throttle response and smoother at idle. it might just be a placebo effect.

Yeh, like I said last night, what does Mike gain by telling you something that isn't true? If he was saying, oh no, mod your car now, buy this exhaust from me, and I'll tune your car, and you were hearing otherwise, i could see where there would be question. But he's telling you to hold off...

I think you'll do the right thing.

Well I got my Cobb 3' catback and my invidia v2 dp and my AP v2 today but when I opened up all the boxes I realized there was a small dent in my mid pipe like 1.5-2 inches in length and about 2-3mm deep, I was wondering is that gonna affect the performance of the turboback when I install it in like 2 months?
