STI Turbo/TMIC
Hi all,
I just bought my wife an 05 Outback Legacy XT (Turbo Outback, 250 hp etc, 2.5L). I have my old stock STI USDM turbo and TMIC sitting on a shelf from my FP Red/Perrin FMIC swap. I was curious if anyone sees an issue with swapping the USDM Outback Turbo and TMIC with the USDM STI Turbo/TMIC. Both are 05 models.
I would get and Ecu-Tek re-flash for the tuning. I think that I could probably get up to 230 whp from what I assume to be about 190. I don't think at this level I will have to upgrade injectors. Everything else will remain stock.
I would love to hear what you all think.
Thanks

nKoan completly helped me out with this
This was from nKoan:
"The STi intake manifold throttle body (and intercooler connection point) is on the top of the manifold, in the center. The Legacy GT manifold has the throttle body off to the right.
Since both throttle bodies are drive by wire, I'm pretty sure that the STi one will work with the LGT.
Check out this thread for more info:

I know that the above thread doesn't have anything specific to do with the STI powerplant but it is a very good description and photojournal of the instalation of a STI turbo, TMIC and Intake Manifold on a Legacy GT (very similar to a Outbact XT).
Thanks again to nKoan!

+1
You will need at least 3 things: VF39 turbo, intercooler, and intake manifold.
The use of a TGV housing will allow direct bolt on of the manifold. The injectors are the same and the fuel pump is fine.
I am in the same boat as you. I am trying to make my 05 LGT a STi. All I have right now is the TGV housing. I am in the market for the turbo, TMIC, and the manifold.
