Sti intercooler, WRC style
Does anyone know how and where i can get the parts to set up an intercooler like this?

I understand it might require a header change as well. If subaru racing thinks this is the best way well then, they might be right. It's probably not cost effective but I think the idea is awesome. Let me know where to go.

Piping is not much less that with FMIC with reversed manifold. And, while it is in the way of the airflow, the surface area is very small.
The reason WRC Impreza's have it, is to prevent as much damage to it as possible. You will never see WRC Impreza retire because of the failed Intercooler.
Just get a V-Mount if you wanna be special. Much better.

I second what Imprezer said. As well this was brought up on Nasioc and there was a guy that actually started piecing together a kit like this and buy the time he was finished with just his intercooler he could have bought a top of the line fmic and did a full turbo swap and probably would have had money left over.

well in that case? what is the best company that makes the WRC style hood. With the hood vent. Secondly they make a piece that isolates the hoodvent to suck air directly from the intercooler. would there be a way, to at least focus where the hood vent was pulling from, or would that be worthless?

As in your first part for the wrc vent imo your best option would be to find a drop in vent and have your hood modified to fit the vent into place. I am not sure but I think Cusco might have a replica hood if you want a new hood. As in your second question I dont think that there is a way to direct where the air is pulling from/dumping air on.
Here is what I found on the wrc hood style. This is a drop in vent so your hood has to me modified
WRC Style Drop In Hood Vent for WRX and STi 2002 - 2005
If you are looking to increase cooling capacity, and prevent intercooler heat soak in traffic, then this drop in hood vent is for you. It comes in black fiberglass, which can be painted body color, with a mesh screen and rain shield for bad weather driving. This vent opens up the engine compartment to allow hot air to escape and air to circulate through the hood scoop and intercooler properly.
*This is a must have for keeping your car constantly cooler!
WRX / STi Drop in Hood Vent, mesh screen and rain shield - $279.99
Shipping is extra and will be billed seperately. Please be patient, these are constantly backordered because of demand.

After looking more for a wrc style hood for the sti I was not able to find one the closest thing would be a carbon fiber sebion hood. It has a hood scoop or choice of reverse hood vent (only for fmic) and has vents that run down both sides of the hood (I have this hood on my car so if you want pics let me know)
