Ok, I went to the dealer last week to get my STi serviced and checked out. They told me that the penzoil oil filter was leaking. Like I said in my previous post, there is no oil on the floor in my garage. And I looked under the car, and never saw any visible leaks. So now they have me taking the car in every few hundred miles, and they check the oil. It's been around 850 miles since my service. And so far, it has been fine. The level has not gone down noticeably like before. They didn't use synthetic. I don't know what they did, but it seems normal again.

I kinda feel like the guy who has a "problem" with his car or cell phone, etc and brings it to the dealer/store to have it fixed. Once you get there, the noise/malfunction or whatever it was, for some reason, stops and doesn't happen while you're there. Then you kinda feel like an idiot b/c it's not happening. Anyways, I'll keep checking the oil and post if there's any problem. Thanks for all the input.

 

Ya, that's what I was just thinking this afternoon. I think I may just end up doing the changes myself or going to the dealer. I'm pretty sure Jiffy Lube was putting in Penzoil 5W30 synthentic. It seems like Mobil 1 is the unanimous choice, so I'll probably go with that. Thanks
