A lot of people say different things, but when should you do your first initial oil change? and how often thereafter? when would you start wanting to go to fully synthetic?

 

I have a Wrx. 1000 miles first oil change. 3k miles after that. Went to M1 at 10k. and change M1 and filter every 3k. I like M1. The only thing i noticed is that the first M1 change i ate a quart of oil in 3k and now i eat none. I don't know why. I think the same would be good for an STi too. Some people go to Syn oil before 10k.

 

I use Redline 10W40 full synthetic, and I started using it around 7-9k miles.

 

What about Tranny oil change(s)... same question but now its time for tranny..

 

i do tranny and diff every 30k

 

i wouldnt go synthetic in the tranny, ive heard nothing but bad things about it. something about how they dont have enough friction, im going to just put the stock oil back in when i change it.
